Are umbrella bamboos clump-forming or running bamboo plants? There are so many that I seem to get it all muddled up.
This little bamboo is very well-behaved. Fargesia Obelisk has many small canes and a much more delicate appearance than the more thuggish members of the family. I have mine for nearly 10 years and I can say that they are in fact best bamboo plants to grow in the garden.
I prefer clumping bamboo to running bamboo – umbrella bamboo is the best. Thank you for this article.
